NFTN’s 2008 festival beneficiary charity is Urban Rest Stop. Urban Rest Stop is a Seattle non-profit organization that provides a clean, safe and welcoming facility where individuals and families can come and use restrooms, shower and laundry facilities. All services are provided at no cost to patrons. 1924 Ninth Avenue, Seattle, WA. URS is located at 1924 Ninth Avenue, Seattle, WA

The Urban Rest Stop (URS) is a hygiene center providing free restrooms, showers and laundry facilities to homeless men, women and children within a clean, safe and dignified environment. The URS has five private shower rooms, 5 washer and dryer units, and a large men’s restroom. Patrons receive free toiletries including toothbrushes, toothpaste, disposable razors, shaving cream, shampoo and soap. Patrons may borrow overalls while they wash their clothes.

The URS also provides information and referral materials for homeless individuals and families and is available in English and other languages.

All services are provided at no cost to patrons. The URS is the only Seattle-area hygiene facility with extended service hours specifically designed to assist homeless persons who are working or seeking a job. www.urbanreststop.org
